What to expect

NTAC has two lodges, located adjacent to each other on our site overlooking the main slopes on Ben Lomond.

The Lodge has extensive facilities including bunkrooms configured to sleep 8 people with four double and two single beds in each, a large kitchen, dining and lounge area, multiple bathrooms in the accommodation and living/day areas, three ski storage areas and a drying room. We also own a smaller lodge adjacent to the big lodge which comprises four smaller self contained units. The Frederick Smithies Lodge (or The Freds as we know it) has the more rustic feel of an older timber lodge. Each unit has a small living and cooking area, adjacent bunkroom with different configurations of single and double beds and bathroom.  Cooking equipment runs on gas and electricity is supplied by generator for lighting and power points.  The generators are run only during meal times and early evening.

What to bring

You need to bring your own linen – you will need to bring a bottom sheet and pillowcase, along with a sleeping bag or doona. You also need to provide your own towel and personal toiletries.  The generators do not run overnight – there are emergency lights and low level LED lighting but a torch definitely comes in handy.

The Club provides pillows, tea, coffee, milo and sugar for hot drinks. You need to bring your own food and drinks to last the duration of your stay.

Tips and Tricks

There is no petrol or groceries available on the mountain. Snow Sports runs a Cafe that is open from start of lifts to late afternoon.
